Captive bear kills woman during cage cleaning

On Sunday, a 37 year old Kelly Ann Waltz in Pennsylvania was killed after being mauled by her pet bear. She was attacked when she entered the bears cage to feed and clean the bears cage. Her husband, Micheal Waltz was revealed to be an exotic pet dealer, with an expired license. His license expired June 28th 2008. Kelly's children and the neighbors children witnessed the attack and called for help. The neighbor shot and killed the bear while it was on Kelly Waltz.

I think that this never should have happened. The husband should have taken care of the bear, since he's the one who had a license for the animals, not his wife. I think that its very sad that her kids had to witness their own mom being mauled by a bear. Hopefully somebody steps in and is able to do something to prevent anything happening like this ever again.

Obama plans trip to Denmark to seek Olympics

This Thursday, Obama will be traveling to Copenhagen, Denmark, where he will be joined by his wife, Michelle Obama, and administration officials. They will be putting a good word for Chicago to the International Olympics Commitee, which will vote the host city on Friday. Obama will be the first U.S. president to ever attend an IOC vote. Chicago is up against Madrid, Spain; Tokyo, Japan; and Rio de Janiero, Brazil. the leaders from these countries are also expected to attend the IOC vote. The U.S. has hosted four Olympic games, the last one was held in 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Earlier this month, Obama held an event to help rally Chicago as a host city.

I think that its great that president Obama is trying to bring the Olympics back into the U.S. I think that having the games here would only help boost our popularity with other countries. It would also help bring our own nation together.
